Constant hitches when watching video.

by Stan
(St. Charles, Illinois)

First off, when I watch a movie with my DVD reader, it works perfectly. When I watch anything else, Youtube, TV episodes over the internet, I get a hitch (stop/start) every 2-3 seconds. It did not always do this but do not know when it started. I have MS Vista with 2GB of RAM.

I tried some of your solutions, ie. adjust Hardware Acceleration (says my current display driver will not let me make changes to hardware acceleration settings), and increase virtual memory (I have it all the way up to 3GB and it makes no difference). I have McAfee software that cleans out my Registry, history and old files every week.

Something else is going on and I don't know what.

Please help.
