Deletion of files

I made a big mistake and downloaded a pornographic movie on a work pc. I promptly deleted the file and the program used to download it. After deletion I ran the program CCleaner on the pc. The next day the computer would not load and the message unmountable_boot_volume appeared. Did I delete the file or is it still there? also, is there anything I can do at this point?

More on the problem
by: Anonymous

Nothing will come up except the blue screen. I am afraid that when I.T. comes to look at it they will be able to see what was on it in the registry or recover something on the hard drive that I deleted prior to the unmountable_boot_volume message. (Is the registry on the hard drive?) I took it to a local computer shop yesterday to see if the hard drive was salvagable. When the technician there pulled the hard drive and plugged it in it would not load. Also, looked at the hard drive to see if we could save any files and every file that came up, came up as symbols. Could the laptop be encrypted? Thank you for your time on my questions. I am truly concerned.

Secure Delete
by: Anonymous

You can perform an overwriting procedure on your PC using C-cleaner. I has a secure delete feature that allows you to overwrite the file ten times. Which can guarantee that it can be retrieved.

The boot volume failure is an big error in your operating system. If you can't get Windows to load. You going to need the original boot disk to repair the problem.

If you can get it to recovery console when your PC boots. Try these commands:

chkdsk c: /r /p
fixmbr
exit (to reboot)
