How to Calibrate Windows Display

A poorly configured Windows display can make your monitor seem fuzzy and cause eye strain. A configured monitor is one that has correct color calibration, gamma settings, brightness and color and contrast levels.
Step 1: Configure Color Calibration
In order to have a proper Windows display you need to calibrate your colors. You can achieve this by adjusting your monitor settings. Here is how:
1. Right Click an empty area on the Windows desktop
2. Choose Display from the Control Panel window
3. Select Calibrate Color
4. Use the red, green and and blue sliders to adjust colors

It's best that the gray bars remain neutral with no color cast.

Step 2: Gamma Settings
The aim in this Windows setting is to reduce the dots in the middle to there barely visible. There are nine circles.Here is how:
1. In the Display Control Panel
2. Enter the Adjust gamma Window
3. Adjust Slider until the visibility of the dots is reduced.

Step 3: Set Brightness Levels
Brightness is a very important monitor settings. Windows will give you a sample image to match the brightness. You will need to adjust the monitor so that all aspects are the picture are visible.

Step 4: Set Contrast Levels
The best way to correctly configure contrast is to increase the contrast level until you start to lose detail of the picture. Just move the slider to adjust the contrast level. Adjust the hard controls on your monitor until picture detail is clear.

Step 5: Enable ClearType font
Clear Type is a Windows Monitor Setting features that allows you to improve the overall readability of the text. Here is how:
1. Right Click an empty area on the Windows desktop
2. Choose ClearType from the Control Panel window
3. Select Enable ClearType
4. Use the Cleartype Wizard to choose sample text that best fit your desired clarity.
